Developers, mark your calendars: consumer tech giant Apple has set the date for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The event, where developers can discover what’s in the future for iOS and OS X, will take place 10-14 June in San Francisco, California.
WWDC will bring developers from around the globe together with Apple engineers and executives at San Francisco’s Moscone West Center.
More than 1,000 Apple engineers will present more than 100 technical sessions, and hands-on labs will help developers integrate new technologies, Apple said.
The event will also feature the Apple Design Awards, a showcase of the most outstanding apps available through the App Store and Mac App Store, Apple said.
“We look forward to gathering at WWDC 2013 with the incredible community of iOS and OS X developers,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice-president of Worldwide Marketing.
“Our developers have had the most prolific and profitable year ever, and we’re excited to show them the latest advances in software technologies and developer tools to help them create innovative new apps. We can’t wait to get new versions of iOS and OS X into their hands at WWDC.”
Tickets for this year’s WWDC go on sale tomorrow at 10am PDT (6pm GMT).
If last year was any indication, tickets will go quickly – they sold out within two hours last year. That left one wannabe attendee to post an ad on Craigslist offering to legally change his or her name to that of the person who provided him or her with a ticket.
