Following an increase in anti-government campaigns on Twitter and Facebook, Sudan’s ruling National Congress Party has warned it will unleash its own cyber jihadists to crush dissent.
Vice-president Mandur Al-Mahdi said Sudan’s cyber battalion is leading online defence operations, according to the BBC.
Like other countries in Africa such as Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, anti-government street protests have been breaking out in Sudan and its government is keen to crush any potential uprisings.
Supporters of the National Congress Party have placed messages on the Facebook pages of known dissidents warning them against causing trouble.
