Award-winning manga artist Mari Yamazaki has created a biography of the late Steve Jobs in her chosen medium, and images from the graphic story have emerged online today.
Chicago-based Yamazaki is best known for comedic manga series Thermae Romae, which was adapted as an anime TV series that aired in Japan, and a live-action film by Fuji TV released last April, with a second planned for 2014.
Yamazaki has since turned her attention to documenting the life of Apple’s co-founder, and will launch her manga creation in the April issue of Kiss, which came out today. The monthly magazine is not a typical choice for the Jobs bio, seeing as it is primarily aimed at women only.
Yamazaki’s creation is said to be an adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s famous biography, Steve Jobs, and tells the story from Isaacson’s perspective. Yahoo! Japan’s online bookstore has posted a 14-page preview of the first chapter of the story online, which depicts Jobs as he was known in his later years, trademark turtleneck and all, and closes with the phrase ‘Think different’.
