Meteor has appointed Highpoint Communications Ltd to deliver coverage solutions as part of its national service expansion.
Highpoint will deliver radio coverage deployment sites in areas where sharing with existing infrastructure isn’t possible.
Investment from Highpoint will develop sites to support all mobile operators in providing enhanced quality services around Ireland.
“This contract represents a significant step in how we deploy national infrastructure solutions to enhance our customer experience without incurring the full costs associated with site development,” said Garrett Early, Meteor’s head of Mobile Access, Network Deployment & Operations.
“The solution offers additional flexibility to our network deployment by adding another option to our delivery model,” he said.
Austin Madden, Highpoint’s director of business development, has said that, by partnering with Meteor, they have developed a commercial solution which “addresses the increasing challenge of providing continuous voice and broadband coverage to the rapidly improving road and rail infrastructure of Ireland.”
“This contract award demonstrates that Highpoint have the product set to deliver wireless communications infrastructure using the most environmentally efficient multi-user site solutions supporting the drive towards the smart economy,” said Madden.
