Ahead of the Irish launch of the iPhone 4, Dublin-based mobile operator Cubic Telecom has released a Maxroam SIM card with the first low-cost Euro-roaming package for the Apple handset.
The iPhone 4 microSim will enable low-cost internet access, voice calls and text messaging anywhere in Europe, as does Cubic Telecom’s iPhone 3G(s) sim card package.
For €99, an iPhone 4 user travelling in Europe gets an allowance of 50MB preloaded data, 90 minutes of calls and 100 SMS messages.
The new iPhone 4 roaming package follows last month’s release of a similar Euro-roaming plan for the iPad.
Freedom from operator roaming charges
“Maxroam products dramatically reduce customers’ mobile roaming costs when travelling across Europe,” said Pat Phelan, director of products and innovation at Cubic Telecom.
“We are constantly developing new technology to stay ahead of mobile operators who charge extortionate roaming rates. Our service is fully transparent and user friendly with no contracts, no bills and definitely no shocks.”
