The authorised biography of Steve Jobs has become Amazon US’ best-selling book of 2011 in spite of the fact it was only released on 24 October.
Walter Isaacson’s biography of the late Apple co-founder and former CEO has reached the top spot in the US Amazon store. In the UK, it’s currently the eighth best-selling book for 2011.
MacRumors reports that the book rose to No 13 quickly after its release in late October and became the second best-selling book of 2011 by mid-November.
The biography’s release date was pushed forward after Jobs died on 5 October. It covers the life of Jobs, drawing material from interviews with Jobs himself and more than 100 of his family members, friends, colleagues and business rivals.
A movie based on the biography is in the works, with Aaron Sorkin, screenwriter of The Social Network, said to be considering the project.
