The week in gadgets

31 May 2010

A look at gadget, game and geek happenings in the week ahead.

With the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2010 only a week away, the Apple rumours are coming hard and fast. It’s almost a certainty that the iPhone 4G will be unveiled to excited fans by CEO Steve Jobs, even though we’ve all seen plenty of the prototype in the past month but plenty more is thought to be on the cards.

A new MacBook Air might be unveiled and even more interesting, a makeover for the Apple TV, long thought to be merely a ‘hobby’ of Jobs but possibly getting a huge revamp that will give it an iPhone OS, touchscreen interface and turn it from a 160GB hub into a small Flash storage device that will stream content from the web and possibly accompany a new streaming music service from iTunes.

Meanwhile, the E3 entertainment expo is only a few weeks away and this is where Microsoft will be giving details about Project Natal for the Xbox 360. The new gaming system that uses your body as a controller has been much talked about but what has been kept under wraps is what games we may expect to see come autumn/winter 2010, when it hits the shops.

With Disney, Activision, EA and THQ on board, there may be games including Tom Clancy, Rockband, Toy Story 3, Star Warsthe Old Republic and Yoga Natal.
