Panasonic is supplying outdoor LED screens ranging from 14m² to 52m² for the London 2012 Olympic Games, as well as its largest-ever indoor plasma display at 152 inches.
Panasonic, an Olympic partner, has already supplied 33.6m² outdoor LED screens for countdown events at London’s Trafalgar Square.
Screens ranging from 14m² and 52m² were already offered for the London Prepares test event series, with sports such as BMX, basketball, hockey and beach volleyball.
Plasma TVs are also being installed inside numerous Olympic venues, which will show audience interactions, action replays and course overviews.
This will include the Panasonic TH-152UX1 4K2K with a 152-inch screen, which a report from Lang AG states is the largest screen in the world.
The company will also supply a number of 103-inch displays.
Panasonic has also recently announced a partnership with the IOC and OBS to offer more than 200 hours of live 3D coverage of the London Olympic Games for broadcast, using its production technology. The screens supplied are capable of showing 3D images to viewers.
