Two Irish companies – pay-as-you-go internet kiosk and printer Surfbox and Wi-Fi firm Bitbuzz – have won a deal to provide internet kiosks with printing and Wi-Fi access to customers at Leeds Bradford Airport, making it easier to check in or book cars and hotels online.
The two Irish companies came together to win the contract to provide internet access to the UK airport, fending off stiff competition from their UK counterparts.
“By bringing the expertise of our two companies together we were able to offer a complete solution – internet kiosks with printing and Wi-Fi to Leeds Bradford Airport,” explained Thomas Marry, managing director, Surfbox.
“Surfbox and Bitbuzz have extensive knowledge and experience in the public internet access market, and both our companies take pride in providing the most reliable internet access to customers. We are confident that we can provide the best possible service to our users at Leeds Bradford Airport,” Marry added.
Bitbuzz’s Russell McQuillan said Leeds Bradford Airport had passenger traffic of 2.75m in 2010. Of this, traffic to Ireland totalled 196,338 for the year.
