Men’s magazine GQ has acknowledged that while the minds of Silicon Valley should receive recognition for their technological innovations, the same can’t be said for some of its men’s style.
Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in particular. He has topped GQ‘s list of the top 15 worst-dressed men of Silicon Valley.
GQ took Zuckerberg to task for still dressing like a college student even though he’s now earning about a gajillion dollars. Jeans, T-shirts and wide ties (when he does wear one), are wardrobe staples.
Following Zuckerberg at No 2 on GQ‘s list is Apple CEO Steve Jobs. All he seems to sport is a black turtleneck and jeans. Or jeans and a black turtleneck. Apple products get upgraded more often.
In third place is Microsoft chairman and co-founder Bill Gates. “Gates takes the lazy preppy approach, opting for a drawer full of V-necks in every hue,” GQ opines.
At No 4 is Shantanu Narayen, president and CEO of Adobe Systems, Inc. Finally, someone who’s not averse to a suit, but Narayen’s problem seems to be finding clothes that fit – too-big blazers and jeans make him look like he’s trapped within the clothes.
Next on the list at No 5 is co-founder and CEO of Foursquare and co-founder of Dodgeball Dennis Crowley. Crowley and Zuckerberg could well be swapping and sharing clothes. Crowley’s hoodies, college sweatshirts and trainers are more suited to painting the house or doing the weekend food shopping.
