Nokia to introduce second netbook?

26 Aug 2009

Aside from the freshly announced Booklet 3G mini-laptop device running on Windows 7, Nokia is rumoured to be working on another ARM-based smartbook.

Like LG and Sony Ericsson, all Nokia handsets are currently ARM-powered but ARM’s technology also powers other device including HP’s Ipaq smartphone, the Amazon Kindle and the lightweight Dell Latitude e4200 Laptop.

According to Digitimes.com Taiwan-based handset makers indicate that Nokia will soon offer this new ‘smartbook’ and is expected to outsource the production to either Compal Electronics or Foxconn Electronics.

The Nokia smartbook is allegedly going to market in early 2010.
