It emerged this afternoon that 15 laptops belonging to the Health Service Executive (HSE) were stolen from HSE offices in Roscommon over the weekend.
The HSE said that 13 of the laptops were encrypted with up-to-date encryption software, which renders the devices inaccessible.
One of the laptops stolen contains slides relating to office training.
It is not known if either of the two unencrypted laptops contain confidential patient information.
The theft occurred at the Primary, Community and Continuing Care Offices in Lanesboro, Co Roscommon.
