Hosting company Letshost.ie has reported €1.2m turnover for the year 2008. The company is planning further growth for 2009, when it is expected to reach €2m turnover.
Letshost.ie was set up in 2005, and has since grown its client base to 15,000 customers, managing over 17,500 domains.
In its first year, the company reported a turnover of €250,000, up to €700,000 in 2007 and €1.2m in 2008.
Letshost.ie has headquarters in Dublin, and it is also expanding its team in Galway city, where the company recently opened a second office.
“2008 has been a very good year for Letshost.ie, and we expect to keep growing in 2009,” says Daragh MacLoughlin, co-founder and director of Letshost.ie.
“We are currently looking at expanding our team in Galway with three new employees, as well as looking at new projects and partnerships designed to make Letshost.ie the top hosting company in Ireland.”
As co-founder Graeme Conkie explains, choosing Galway city as the location for Letshost.ie’s second office made perfect business sense.
“Galway just seemed to us like the perfect place to open our second branch. It is a buzzing city with plenty of activities and resources, as well as a thriving business community. The city also has a great supply of highly skilled staff, mainly graduates from the local university.
“On top of that, costs associated with running a business and expenses are much lower than in other parts of the country, such as the Dublin area,” Conkie added.
Letshost.ie received the IEDR’s Achievement Award in 2008 for its contribution to the promotion and development of the .ie namespace.
The company also today announced a further reduction to price of IE domains to €17.99 + VAT per year for new registrations. “This is the cheapest price for .ie domains in the country,” MacLoughlin claimed.
