Core Media expands in digital and data, creates 20 new jobs

4 Jun 2015

Core Media has announced the creation of 20 new roles as part of an expansion of its digital and data offering.

The roles are rooted in the digital side of Core’s business. Positions to be filled will be spread across online media, search, analytics, social media and creative technology services.

The Core Media expansion follows unprecedented growth in demand for digital and data, with these areas accounting for 40pc of the company’s total revenue.

“Our industry has evolved beyond recognition in the last seven years, with an ever-changing consumer and media landscape. Our priority is to stay firmly on that curve, through continued development of our people and propositions, as well as ongoing investment in deepening and expanding our capabilities,” says Justin Cullen, digital and data officer at Core.

The new roles are being brought online separate to the company’s graduate programme, which will this summer add 10 graduates to Core staff on a permanent basis.

Cullen recognises that tech talent is in high demand, and knows that Core will have to work hard to stand out.

“We have to compete for talent like every other company in the market, and we must attract that talent on our merits.  We invest heavily in creating a very dynamic working environment, one that rewards creativity and enterprise.”

Core Media was voted Agency Network of the Year at this year’s Irish Media Awards, for the third year in a row, and was voted the best workplace in Ireland in 2013 and 2014 by the Great Place to Work Institute. It was also voted as one of the 20 best workplaces in Europe in 2014.

The media communications group draws in annual billings in excess of €180m, making it the largest company of its kind in Ireland.
