17-year-old Cork teen Émer Hickey chose Inspirefest 2015 as the platform to launch Germinaid Innovations, the new company she has founded with her friend and fellow teen scientist, Ciara Judge.
Germinaid Innovations is an agricultural solutions company.
“Germinaid Innovations stems from the project that we worked on for three years, which looked at germinating seeds,” Hickey explained. “We want to capture ideas, work with them and see where they take us.”
Hickey and Judge, along with their friend Sophie Healy-Thow, won the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in 2013, and were also awarded a top prize in the 2014 Google Science Fair.
Hickey and Judge are also two of the teens who will take part in the Stemettes Outbox Incubator programme in London this summer.
