The Citywest Business Campus in Dublin is to be home to PlanNet21’s new headquarters while a data centre is coming to Blanchardstown as part of a €20m investment that will also create 30 jobs for the data management company.
The decision to move to the Citywest campus was part of a necessary expansion to accommodate the growth of the company who already have offices in Cork, Galway and Belfast as part of its EMEA operations.
According to the company, the 30 new jobs in PlanNet21 will mostly be based in the roles of engineering and professional services bringing their staff numbers to over 100 by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, a separate site in Blanchardstown will house the company’s new 10,000 sq ft data centre which will include almost 5,000 sq ft in business continuity or disaster recovery seating in a separate location from their new HQ near Blanchardstown.
This data centre is designed to conform with the Uptime Institute Certification and will be Ireland’s lowest PUE (power-usage effectiveness) data centre in the country,opening its doors in November of this year.
Speaking of the announcement, PlanNet21’s CEO Peter Carroll said: “This is going to take us to the next level in the Irish and European market place and we feel the time is right to reinvest in our business. And with one of the co-founders Denise Tormey also in this year’s Ernst & Young ‘International Category’, it clearly shows this Irish firm really is taking on the big boys.”
