The London-based fintech company, Clarus Financial Technology, is to bring 15 jobs to Belfast with the opening of a new research and development centre.
Clarus Financial Technology operates in international capital markets and provides data, analytics and research services to its customers, which include investment banks, hedge funds, regulators and brokers from the USA, GB and Europe.
Founded in 2012, Clarus Financial Technology also has offices located in Chicago and Zurich along with its London-based headquarters, and now has added Belfast to its list of city locations. The company says the 15 new roles will be recruited over the next three years and will include positions for a development manager, eight software engineers and six business analysts.
Welcoming the company’s investment, Invest NI’s Executive Director of International Business, Bill Scott, said: “The 15 new jobs will pay above the Northern Ireland private sector median and offer technology and business analytics graduates the opportunity to gain excellent experience servicing top level companies.”
Explaining their decision to move to Belfast, Dr Gary Kennedy, an experienced quantitative analyst and co-founder of Clarus, said: “We looked at other locations in the USA and Republic of Ireland for our new R&D centre but the business environment in Northern Ireland, the strength of the talent pool here, the proximity to Queen’s University and the support from Invest NI made Belfast the best option for us.”
