Samsung claims its new Galaxy Note 7 has the write stuff

Samsung has revealed the new Galaxy Note 7, which is not only waterproof but comes with a new Note 7 S Pen that enables users to not just write but create and share GIF animations too.

The Galaxy Note 7 features a new symmetrical-edge design, a water-resistant body and a new S Pen that has a smaller 0.7mm tip compared to its predecessor.

The device also comes with new biometric authentication features, including iris scanning.

The new device lets users pin notes and memos to the unlock screen, as well as easily create and share GIF animations.

It comes with new commands that allow you to ‘magnify’ and ‘translate’ by just hovering the pen over words.

Galaxy Note 7 is primed for immersive VR and 360-degree video experiences

The new smartphone features a curved 5.7in AMOLED display that is optimised for HDR video.

The device is also primed to pair with the new Gear VR headset powered by Oculus so users can enjoy VR experiences anywhere.

It can also be paired with the new high-resolution Gear 360 camera to shoot 360-degree videos.

As well as 64GB of internal memory, it has expandable storage and micro SD support up to 256GB.

The Galaxy Note 7 will be available from 16 August and will come in a range of colours, including blue coral, silver titanium and black onyx.

The device can be pre-ordered from Carphone Warehouse, Three Ireland, Tesco and Vodafone with a free Gear VR headset.
