Proving Ireland’s influence on the global fintech sector, Wall Street firm Wachsman PR has opened its new European headquarters in Dublin.
Ireland has rapidly established itself as a centre of fintech innovation and start-ups, and is quickly becoming a new haven for British-based banks in the aftermath of Brexit.
Now, a Wall Street firm that targets the biggest companies globally in this space is making Dublin the home of its new European headquarters.
Founded in 2015, Wachsman PR has opened its new office in The Digital Hub in Dublin 8, where it will work with European fintech companies across the areas of blockchain, cryptocurrency, equity crowdfunding, alternative asset and real-estate investment industries.
A spokesperson for Wachsman PR in Ireland said that the European office will initially have three staff, but has plans to grow this to 10 in the near future.
‘Ireland continues to be America’s gateway to Europe’
Leading the firm’s European business will be 26-year-old Dublin native Emma Walker, who began working at the Wall Street office soon after it was founded.
Within four months of working there, Walker was named as one of FinanceFeeds’ ‘30 Under 30: The Industry’s Future Leaders’ and began to establish an independently prominent reputation within the blockchain and cryptocurrency community.
“It has been a privilege to watch the incredible fintech innovation come from start-ups in every continent,” she said.
“Europe is at the forefront of blockchain innovation and I am extremely excited to launch our European headquarters in Dublin, my hometown and the ideal location for a specialist firm with global reach.”
Meanwhile, founder David Wachsman said the firm has been eyeing up Ireland with great interest.
“Ireland continues to be America’s gateway to Europe,” he said.
“A business-friendly environment, world-class talent, ‘grade A’ infrastructure, and strong historical ties between the US and Ireland make Dublin an attractive location for our European headquarters.”
