When you graduate, the world is your oyster. However, you need to know where start.
It’s graduate season, which means some of the biggest companies in the country are looking to recruit graduates for their respective programmes.
For graduates, this is good news. However, it doesn’t mean they don’t need all the help they can get to put their best foot forward and impress those graduate recruiters.
Following last week’s announcement that Deloitte is recruiting 300 graduates, Three Ireland is looking for 15 graduates to join their team, while the likes of Vodafone and PwC are also looking for top graduates.
This week, we got the chance to take another insider look at one of the top graduate programmes in the country at Accenture. Steve Barry had an inkling that technology consulting was the right career path for him, so he started working in Accenture as an intern and then returned on the graduate programme.
Once graduates think they have the right programme for them, they need to make sure they’re prepared to wow the recruiters. With help from Hays, we’re giving graduates some specific advice to help them with their job search this week.
We also spoke to some of the biggest graduate recruiters in the country to find out what exactly they’re looking for in their perfect candidate.
It wasn’t just a week for those finishing off their education either.
We explored some of the most forward-thinking initiatives in the country to get more kids tech-savvy and involved in digital learning. We also heard from the head of the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, Mari Cahalane, about the importance of engaging children and students in the STEM industry.
