A whole new generation of workers means employers need to adopt a whole new approach to workplace culture.
As Generation Z employees are poised to outnumber millennials in the workforce, it’s time for employers to sit up and adapt their culture to suit the new recruits.
“We know more about them than we did about millennials when they entered the workforce,” HubSpot’s Barbara McCarthy said at Inspirefest 2019. “It’s time to start building companies and cultures within companies that they want to work for right now.”
As McCarthy pointed out, this new generation is full of passion and many of its workers would prefer to be entrepreneurs than employees. So, what should employers do to nurture this? “Give them the autonomy and challenge to think like a CEO.”
