RSA announces collaboration with mobile app specialist FeedHenry
RSA announced on 1 March that it would be collaborating with mobile app developer FeedHenry. The Waterford-based FeedHenry will now integrate RSA mobile authentication technologies into its mobile app platform. The aim is to further support end-to-end mobile app security.
FeedHenry itself is a spin-out of the Telecommunications Software and Systems Group. It provides a cloud-based platform that lets large organisations build and deploy mobile apps, and exposes common mobile application components to software developers.
FeedHenry works across a range of mobile platforms, including Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, Nokia and the mobile web.
Just recently, the company struck up a partnership with Telefónica Digital that will see its mobile arm O2 launch a platform to let businesses of any size build their own mobile apps.
European Space Agency backs Irish start-up’s plans to digitise forestry data
Irish clean-tech start Treemetrics this week got backing from both the European Space Agency (ESA) and Enterprise Ireland on its plan to bring the global forestry industry into the digital era.
The Cork-based company is developing a real-time forest intelligence (RTFI) service, with the goal of bringing live 3D forestry data to mobile devices and machinery across the globe.
The ESA announced on 1 March that it would be supporting Treemetrics on its 3D forestry data initiative.
The RTFI service will build on Treemetric’s analytics platform and 11m-tree database, which is currently the largest of its kind in the world.
The company itself was set up in 2005. Irish games entrepreneur Dylan Collins recently became chairman of Treemetrics.
Prof Amnon Ginati, the head of the Integrated Applications Department at ESA, voiced his support for Treemetrics’ new technology last week.
Three teams up with x-Mobility to offer MVNO connectivity
Mobile network Three revealed last week it had signed a deal with x-Mobility to act as a mobile virtual network aggregator (MVNA). It will now offer a white label branded mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) for brands entering the mobile market on the Three network in Ireland.
Three said the deal with x-Mobility was part of its expansion into the wholesale space in Ireland.
Eoin MacManus, commercial director at Three, said the deal would provide a “rapid and cost-effective solution” for established brands and new entrants to launch an MVNO with Three via x-Mobility.
Three also said it would be bringing further MVNO partners onto its network through x-Mobility in the coming months.
