Asavie and Telefónica enter into connectivity agreement
Dublin-based company Asavie Technologies announced an agreement with Telefónica, an O2 company, to offer connectivity solutions to the operator’s business customers.
The agreement will see Telefónica Group deliver a multi-million euro revenue stream to Asavie, offering customers a range of mobile connectivity services for secure real-time information exchange, which they expect will increase the speed of business processes, improve the quality of data exchange and significantly reduce operational costs.
Asavie, an Enterprise Ireland client based in Dublin, will be delivering two mobile connectivity solutions to Telefónica, Intranet Negocios and Intranet M2M.
Asavie provides on-demand solutions that accelerate the secure exchange of information between people, applications and devices.
Zinopy acquires DataPOS – third acquisition in three months
John Ryan’s new company Zinopy has made its third acquisition since starting up in September. The company has acquired the software, solutions and support division of Visusoft, trading as Datasoft.
DataPOS, the accounting and work flow software product developed by Datasoft, represents an opportunity for Zinopy to go to market with a comprehensive and proven software application designed to meet the needs of both single site/single user organisations and larger multi-company, multi-site and multi-user operations.
Microsoft in pact with Origina to grow private cloud market
n particular, the partnership will integrate Origina’s private cloud infrastructure with Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtual servers, resulting in 40pc cost savings in most cases.
Both companies see significant opportunities to grow revenues for server virtualisation in the Irish enterprise space.
This is being fuelled by organisations looking to reduce costs, lower carbon emissions, improve disaster recovery times, and consolidate their existing storage and server requirements.
With Origina’s existing knowledge and footprint in the Irish enterprise market, Microsoft expects Hyper-V to gain further market share. Hyper-V has already gained almost five points of share over the last year in Ireland.
This joint initiative will see Origina and Microsoft target all enterprises in Ireland with more than 25 physical servers.
AirSpeed in €90k broadband deal with Eurolink
Nationwide wireless carrier AirSpeed has signed a two-year contract worth €90,000 with Eurolink M3 and M4 that will provide the public-private partnership with a 100Mbps link between the two toll locations.
The broadband link will be used to ensure the reliable and fast transfer of mission critical and bandwidth-intensive applications.
The speed and reliability of the links from AirSpeed Telecom will enable staff to work remotely between the sites, as well as manage information relevant to its subscriber database.
