Online property listings firm Daft.ie had expanded into the Polish market with the launch of Daft.pl. The company is aiming to capitalise on the large number of Polish nationals who lived in Ireland during the boom.
The Daft.pl website has about 60,000 properties covering every major city and town in Poland and was launched on the back of the original Daft.ie’s popularity amongst Polish people living and working in Ireland in the last 10 years.
The Polish property market, which is 10 times larger than the Irish one, represents a potentially huge market for the Daft Media Group, even when factoring in internet penetration in Poland, which is 52pc in comparison to Ireland’s 66pc.
The new website has been fully localised into Polish and offers the same functionality of the Irish site.
“We see this expansion into Poland as being a very positive move for Daft,” said Judyta Holubowicz, business unit manager, Daft.pl.
“There is so much potential in this market and we hope to build on the strong link that exists between Ireland and Poland.
“We expect many of the Polish people that have had positive experiences using Daft over the last few years will help spread the word back home. All in all, we’re very excited to be moving into Eastern Europe and we’re anticipating great success in this market.”
