Every week, we like to look back at the careers stories we published over the preceding five days, just to get a feeling for what’s been going on in the world of careers and careers development. This week, we didn’t have to look very deep. It’s all about jobs.
At the time of going to press, we had written about nine separate jobs announcements, with a total of 701 new jobs this week alone. Top announcements came from KamaGames (100 jobs), OneSource (289) and Blue Insurance (100).
As if that wasn’t enough, this week also saw the announcement of a regional jobs strategy that is expected to bring 40,000 jobs to Cork and Kerry by 2020.
So we’re basically swimming in tech jobs at the moment.
And they’re not just available to Irish people, either. During the week, we spoke to Yang Song, who moved here from China and works at AOL.

KamaGames, a global publisher of social games for Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Steam and which has an online casino partnership with Manchester United Football Club is to create 100 new jobs in Dublin over the next three years.
