Twitter and Zalando are swelling the ranks of Career Zoo 10’s headline sponsors, it was announced today (31 August).
They will join existing sponsors Amgen, Bank of Ireland and Pramerica, which were announced as Career Zoo sponsors earlier this month.
Zalando, the online fashion platform, is participating in Career Zoo for the first time this year.
The retail giant plans to broaden its existing platform into one that provides solutions for all partners in the fashion industry, from customers and stylists to brands and retailers.
To do this, Zalando intends to focus on data science and engineering research in a bid to build up data expertise in the field of fashion. The Dublin-based Fashion Insights Centre will play a big part in that.
Zalando is currently in the midst of a job creation push, planning for several hundred long-term jobs to be brought online in Dublin over the coming months and years, as well as 50 more immediate roles in data science and software engineering.
According to a statement, the company will be recruiting at Career Zoo for “new colleagues who are ready for big challenges and really want to change something. [Teams] in Zalando are given full autonomy to build, create and code-solve some very complex problems. [Zalando] aims to revolutionise the fashion world, so this is an exciting time to become part of the story”.
This will also be Twitter’s first year sponsoring Career Zoo.
In addition to sponsoring the event, the social media behemoth will be recruiting at it.
“At Career Zoo, Twitter will be looking to hire for a variety of roles, ranging from user services and finance to engineering and sales. Twitter is looking for dedicated and ambitious people who will work together to help build a company with a global impact,” said Brian Ó hOisín, director of Career Zoo.
Career Zoo is Ireland’s leading event for networking and professional opportunities for those working in tech.
Career Zoo 10 will take place at Dublin’s Convention Centre on 12 September.
