Some good news for up-and-coming journalists this morning as Maximum Media has announced it’s to hire 42 new staff over the next 12 months.
Based in its Dublin office, Maximum Media is behind the Irish websites Joe.ie and Her.ie, among others. It currently employs 66 staff, which will now rise to over 100 when these new jobs are filled over the coming months.
Starting with the hiring of a new editor for Her.ie to coincide with an imminent rebranding, Maximum Media has said that it’s looking to hire various roles across journalism, production and marketing.
Some of the titles it lists as being available are multimedia journalists, social content innovators, commercial and creative strategists, ad operations and video production specialists.
20 of these 42 positions, the company said, will be filled in the first half of 2016.
Also announced this morning has been next month’s launch of its more commercial wing, MADE, which will begin offering media production services to clients starting next month.
This will then expand to working with the editorial teams to guide social media strategy.
With 10 staff in the UK, Maximum Media’s CEO Niall McGarry said this jobs creation will also facilitate expansion there.
“The UK is now a major focus for us and we will roll out two more titles there by the end of 2016,” he said. “Our brands will not only exist, but also thrive in a myriad of different countries and we are steadfast in our belief that we will see Joe and Her in multiple jurisdictions by 2018.”
