LinkedIn’s five-year anniversary at its Dublin base sees the social networking site closing in on the magic 1,000 employees figure, with 100 new roles to be filled at the company.
Already employing 900 people (a rise of 300 since this time last year), LinkedIn’s Dublin expansion will see its international HQ expanded further, with construction already underway.
LinkedIn’s Irish workforce operates in a number of functions, with sales and marketing, engineering, data insights and analytics all housed in the companies ever-growing operation.
The open roles include sales managers, insight analysts, applied scientists, HR managers and finance managers.

“As one of LinkedIn’s first employees in Ireland, it has been fantastic to be part of driving the evolution of the company,” said Sharon McCooey, senior director of international operations and Dublin site lead.
“We have grown from a team of three to a workforce of 900 people in five short years and we continue to expand with the construction of our new international headquarters here in the city centre.
“Our location at the heart of Europe’s digital ecosystem means that we are ideally placed for the future.”
LinkedIn’s growth comes on the back of recent research by the company that found Ireland continues to be a net beneficiary of international professional talent migration.

18pc more professionals came to Ireland than left the country in Q3 2015, according to the research, showing that the technology industry continues to attract the most foreign talent, with the software and hardware sectors ranking among the top five most popular areas for professionals moving to Ireland.
Other, more light-hearted LinkedIn research, also recently found that less than one-quarter of us think our folks know what we do.
“Since establishing its international headquarters in Dublin five years ago, LinkedIn has developed its business significantly, creating jobs in key areas such as data analysis and applied science,” said Martin Shanahan of the IDA.
“The decision by the company to develop and construct its international headquarters here is testament to Ireland’s reputation as a global leader in technology and big data.”
