Speaking with Siliconrepublic.com, Ammeon’s CEO Fred Jones gives us his insight into what it’s like to work at the Irish IT services company and why developing staff in-house is crucial to its plan.
With its headquarters in Dublin, Ammeon has already had a rather successful 2015 having announced last October that it was to create 100 jobs as part of the expansion of its DevOps and Cloud Centre of Excellence.
Ammeon currently employs over 200 people, the majority of whom are based in the company’s Dublin headquarters with a smaller number in its UK offices.
Taking us around their Dublin offices, Jones puts particular emphasis on the desire for the company to take staff in at the graduate level, and to grow their portfolio in-house to reach higher-up positions, whether in Dublin or other offices.
Heading into 2016, the company managed to secure a rather lucrative deal to deliver Mirantis’ OpenStack service in the EMEA region, with the duo establishing an Irish centre too.
This plays into the company’s development of its DevOps and Cloud Centre services with Jones saying at the time of the announcement, “Jointly establishing an EMEA deployment centre strengthens Ammeon’s capabilities in DevOps and OpenStack cloud deployment and deepens Mirantis’ local presence, giving our customers exceptional technical expertise for this emerging technology.”
