Online ticketing giant Eventbrite plans to create 50 new jobs in Cork over the next three years at a new customer support centre in the city.
Eventbrite is to begin recruiting immediately for 15 full-time staff.
The company plans to hire employees who speak various languages, including German, Dutch, Italian, French and English to support its growing roster of customers around the world.
In cooperation with Eventbrite’s international network of customer support centres in San Francisco, Nashville and Mendoza, the new presence in Cork will serve event organisers around the world with 24-7 support.
Eventbrite’s second Irish office will be just the ticket
The Cork presence will be Eventbrite’s 10th office worldwide and the company’s second in Ireland. It operates an operation at Dublin’s Digital Hub.
“Helping our organisers run successful events lies at the heart of our company, and our global 24-7 customer support team is crucial in providing this support,” said Joel Crouch, Eventbrite’s general manager for both Ireland and the UK.
“When we looked for a home for our growing customer support team in Europe, we searched for a place with easy access to great talent, while also affording our team members a high quality of life. That’s what we found in Cork.”
The company, which was established in 2006 by Kevin Hartz, Julia Hartz and Renaud Visage, has processed more than $5bn in ticket sales across 180 countries and 100m tickets.
Investors in Eventbrite include Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global and T. Rowe Price.
