Business technology consultancy Storm Technology was founded over 20 years ago and has, in the intervening years, grown significantly, now boasting offices in Dublin and Galway, as well as a considerable workforce.
With customers spanning sectors, Storm focuses on software development to provide a unique digital enterprise experience for its disparate clients.
We sat down with John Tallon – practice lead in enterprise and cloud solutions at Storm – in the company’s Galway facility to talk about working at the consultancy firm and available job opportunities.
“There are a number of different areas that somebody can move into within [the company], which could be anything from the data analytics side, to cloud, mobility and enterprise solutions,” explained Tallon.
Storm’s staff has almost doubled over the last three or four years, according to Tallon, and that has created varied opportunities across the business.
Everything from graduate programmes to senior development positions exist within the company, catering for those just starting out in the industry and those with a little more experience under their belt.
“The core of what we do in here, obviously, is software development,” said Tallon, “so everything is kind of structured around that, or servicing that.”
That offers a lot of scope for employees and potential employees. For the latter, integrity, expertise and an internal drive are important skillsets.
Many of Storm’s existing employees have been working at the company for its entire lifespan, suggesting that the firm has more to offer than just jobs.
According to Tallon, access to talented peers, progressive opportunities, and the chance to work with new technologies – as well as Storm’s calm, multicultural, relaxed and friendly environment – all contribute to making the consultancy firm a great place to work.
