Intel Ireland general manager, Jim O’Hara, has been appointed by the chip giant as vice-president of its technology manufacturing group. O’Hara is also plant manager of Intel’s Fab 10/14 in Leixlip. The appointment was one of 13 vice-presidents announced by the company yesterday. O’Hara is responsible for Intel’s manufacturing operations in Ireland and for the site’s strategic direction, management leadership and development. The 51-year-old assumed the role of Intel Ireland general manager in April of this year. He joined the company in 1991 as part of the Fab 10 start-up team and became plant manager for Fab 10 in 1996 and after that managed both Fab 10 and Fab 14, known as Ireland Fab Operations.
