Greenpeace has recognised a list of companies that have slashed their energy footprints, with Cisco, Fujitsu and Ericsson coming out on top in a leaderboard.
The leaderboard, which ranks companies in categories of Solutions, Energy Impact and Advocacy, measures the impacts of IT solutions and any improvement companies are making to reduce their impacts.
“Cisco, Fujitsu and Ericsson have set the bar in this category by prioritising solutions development. Their case study submissions, supported by solid assumptions with pre- and post-intervention data on the greenhouse-gas savings potential of their solutions, win them high marks.
“Cisco and Ericsson are also two of the companies demonstrating leadership in pushing for better standardisation of metrics. Fujitsu and Wipro stand out for their future emissions savings goals, which all other companies have yet to establish,” the report said.
Cool IT
The Cool IT Leaderboard ranks global IT brands on their efforts to build emission-slashing products, mitigate their own energy footprints, and support climate and energy policies.
Other companies that were listed on the Greenpeace Cool IT Leaderboard were Dell, Google, HP, IBM, Intel, Nokia, Oracle, Panasonic, SAP, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba and WIPRO.
