As part of European Solar Days, the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is today holding an event at the EPA’s headquarters in Johnstown Castle, Wexford, which is home to Ireland’s largest array of solar photovoltaic panels, to promote the advantages of solar energy.
Speakers from the solar energy field who will share their expertise about the key principles and techniques in designing, installing and maintaining solar projects will include William Comerford of Kingspan Renewables: Bill Quigley of NuTech; Ger O’Donohue of Igneus Energy; Tim Cooper of Coolpower; Gene Hourihane of Sunstream; and Dr Mazhar Bari of Solarprint.
The speakers will also look at how solar energy can provide cost-effective and ecological building solutions for buildings, ranging from hotels to schools, local authority buildings, farms, sports clubs, nursing homes, gyms and community centres.
European Solar Days
European Solar Days itself is a pan-European campaign that runs for several weeks each year to raise public awareness about solar thermal and photovoltaics at a local level. Countries organise their own events to promote solar energy. This year it is running from 1-15 May.
