Transatlantic fibre cable provider Hibernia Atlantic is to host a point of presence for its cable system at Interxion’s DUB2 data centre.
The new Hibernia Atlantic link into DUB2 specifically caters to North American corporations in Ireland and foreign investment organisations that require the fastest routes into and throughout Ireland.
Hibernia Atlantic is also in the process of laying its US$300m Hibernia Express cable that will extend from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, to the UK, connecting finance centres in New York and London in just 59 milliseconds.
“Hibernia Atlantic’s new network deployments, such as this one into Interxion’s Dublin facility, further stimulate growth to the region and attract additional investments,” states Fergus Innes, VP of Sales, EMEA of Hibernia Atlantic.
Interxion’s Dublin data centres provide access to more than 25 telecoms carriers.
“The fact that this is the only direct, low-latency connectivity route between North America and Ireland further reflects our commitment to delivering the best possible connectivity options to our customer base. Hibernia’s high-capacity, fibre-optic cable system is especially relevant for our digital media community, such as content delivery providers and social media engines, that require high-capacity bandwidth,” said Tanya Duncan, managing director of Interxion.
“Our secure facilities were specifically designed to support mission-critical applications and IT systems, and Hibernia’s diverse, high-speed connectivity is another true value-add for our clients,” she said.
