Cable TV and telecoms provider NTL this morning told siliconrepublic.com that it had no comment to make on claims that it intends to pull out of the residential telecoms market as a cost-saving measure.
A report in today’s Irish Times claimed that the company was intending to cease its CPS(Carrier Pre-Select) residential service. CPS is a technology that allows operators to offer telecoms service over the existing Eircom network.
According to today’s report, the CPS telephony service is a loss maker for the firm. NTL Ireland’s parent company has been in financial difficulties of late and was forced to apply for bankruptcy protection in the US.
