Almost a year old now, Accenture’s state-of-the-art Dublin innovation centre, The Dock, has found its form as a modern workplace.
On 10 February 2017, Accenture officially opened The Dock – a global multidisciplinary research and incubation hub in the heart of Dublin’s Silicon Docks at 7 Hanover Quay.
The space, which is the latest addition to the Accenture campus, is where teams of researchers, developers, designers and experts from a wide range of domains – including advanced analytics, augmented reality, internet of things and artificial intelligence – investigate, imagine and bring new ideas to life.
At its foundation, the design of the building is human-centric, providing a flexible and open working space to maximise creative output as well as prioritising the health and wellbeing of those working here. The space enables teams to custom-build their work environments, selecting whatever building blocks they need to facilitate collaboration.
Natural light floods each floor, from the reception all the way to the large, colourful canteen and event space that overlooks Dublin’s docklands area. Two large skyboxes are situated right above this area, offering a sensational panoramic view of Dublin, from the Convention Centre to the Dublin Mountains and beyond.
Around every corner, you’ll find clear instances where humans and technology are colliding – robots and phone booths mix with mobile visual display hubs, and virtual and augmented reality devices.
