US data centre giant Digital Realty has opened its new €150m data centre campus in west Dublin.
The state-of-the-art 10-acre site supports the phased development plan of 15.36 megawatts of data centre space across four buildings, totalling 85,000 sq feet.
During the testing phase at peak load, the site achieved a PUE of between 1.15 and 1.18. By comparison, the PUE utilising a traditional chilled water system is about 1.6.
The Uptime Institute, the Global Data Centre authority, has certified Digital Profile Park’s design as Tier III compliant.
“Our investment in Dublin’s Profile Park was based on Ireland’s standing as a leading international location for technology and innovation,” said Bernard Geoghegan, managing director, EMEA and Asia Pacific at Digital Realty.
“The facility is designed to offer both local and multinational enterprise clients an excellent range of connectivity options into the wider Digital Realty ecosystem.
“It also features an indirect air optimisation system, which improves our clients’ data centre energy efficiency by lowering PUE (power usage effectiveness) and therefore their total cost of occupancy.”
