Online cloud computing resources

Without the internet there would be no cloud. The beauty of the cloud is that, via broadband, you can provision entire servers or state-of-the-art apps and software services instantaneously, saving money and cutting down on expenditure.

OVH
OVH is a French, privately owned web-hosting service that offers two types of cloud services: miniCloud and Dev Cloud. MiniCloud is a virtual machine with 128MB – 2GB of RAM, 8GHz CPU and 10GB disk, “on time” promise, available with raw distribution (Debian, Ubuntu) or ready to use (Java, RoR). It is a service that has thousands of customers. Dev Cloud provides an SQL server and an unlimited number of applications. The Dev Cloud adapts to the customer’s needs and to the number of visitors. The DevCloud is only available from the OVH network. It offers unlimited databases, unlimited database sizes and an amount of unlimited users.

EMC
EMC provides the systems, software and services to leverage a customer’s business data. Its objective is to optimise a customer’s information infrastructure to meet growing demands for enterprise content management, security, archiving, storage and virtualisation. EMC Private Cloud Acceleration services and solutions offer consulting, technology integration, resident and education services. Cloud Acceleration services and solutions – encompassing consulting, technology integration, resident and education services offerings, as well as EMC Proven solutions – are critical to addressing the challenges.

Microsoft
Microsoft offers Windows Azure, Windows Server Hyper-V, Microsoft Office 365. Windows Azure can create and host web applications and services that quickly scale up or down, depending on business demands. Windows Server Hyper-V is a form of private cloud technology that offers unprecedented scale, provisioning and automation and agility. The user can build their own private cloud or choose a hosted solution and empower their business with online collaboration and cloud power. Microsoft Office 365 gives users all the productivity tools and benefits of Microsoft Office, along with the power of cloud services. It allows users to communicate, share expertise, gain business insight and find information.

Trilogy Technologies
Trilogy Technologies offers managed service and IT support, virtualisation, unified communications and collaboration, database services and strategic ICT consulting advice to its clients. Trilogy Technologies most recently launched ‘edge/point’, the company’s newly developed managed services portal, which is a highly functional, ‘window into an infrastructure’ portal, providing real-time visibility of a client’s entire IT infrastructure anywhere via a standard web browser. The Digiweb brand is a full-service telecommunication service provider offering data, MPLS, data centre services, cloud computing (IAAS), managed services, business voice and VoIP services. Digiweb offers utility cloud, private cloud and cloud apps. The utility cloud allows customers to deploy Linux and Windows cloud servers in seconds, scale up as required and pay used.
