Google’s enigmatically named Android M (Marshmallow) has been previewed by the internet giant, continuing Google’s sweet-themed naming system. The new OS features fingerprint support and will be out in the autumn.
Android Marshmallow will be out in the autumn and last night Google revealed the SDK for developers to upgrade their apps.
Along with the new platform features like fingerprint support and Doze power-saving mode, Android Marshmallow features a new permissions model that streamlines the app install and update process.

Google is understood to be working on two new Nexus smartphone devices to showcase the new Marshmallow operating system and both phones will feature built-in fingerprint scanners.
Google also revealed developers can now submit apps that use Marshmallow’s API 23 for use on the preview devices.
“At the consumer launch this fall, the Google Play store will also be updated so that the app install and update process supports the new permissions model for apps using API 23,” Google said.
