Still customisable, still looking like actual watches, the latest batch of Moto 360s have finally been revealed at IFA in Berlin.
Both a traditional and a Sport variant were on show, with the latest release the first of the Moto 360s since the Apple Watch strolled into the smartwatch market earlier this year, changing the whole game in the process.
Moto 360 has had a good time of it, despite Apple’s intrusion. But competition is mounting, with Samsung releasing its latest Gear, and Sony pushing its own variant, as the German show continues.
The new Moto 360 now has two wrist sizes (42mm and 46mm), with a different connection point for the ever-growing strap options. There are also different thickness of straps, allowing for a his and hers option.
The Moto 360 Sport is pretty self-explanatory – it’s ridiculous wearing the standard Moto 360 in the gym, for example.
It’s based on the 42mm version of the Moto 360, adorned with a rubber, sport-friendly star and case.
“Strong silicone construction with special UV coating wicks away moisture and resists fading or staining, while side ventilation channels help you stay cool,” said the company. Fantastic use of the word “wicks”.
Naturally enough for a smartwatch, there’s built-in GPS that tracks speed, distance, and pace, while a heart sensor tracks other important vitals.
It also lets you store music on it, which will no doubt help people work out, with a “new AnyLight hybrid display.”
Both devices have a two-day battery, but we’re still waiting on the company to let us know the Irish release dates.
