Continuing his San Francisco adventure, Siliconrepublic.com’s editor John Kennedy gets up-close-and-personal with the new Apple Watch models and Hermès Collection.
While we are still actually waiting to see the official launch of the Apple Watch here in Ireland, we can rest easy knowing that, out there in the countries where it is available, they will soon get an updated operating system (OS), watchOS 2.
Available on the same day as the launch of iOS 9, watchOS 2 will bring a range of new features to the Apple Watch, mostly relating to its opening up to developers.
Once the new OS is launched, it will support native third-party apps, as well as third-party watch faces, which should give Apple Watch users some fun.
Apple also said that watchOS 2 will bring in a raft of new changes, which should improve the watch’s performance and battery life.
Perhaps what caught the attention of most, however, are the physical changes, which include a range of new bands to choose from for the Apple Watch.
The most notable of which includes Apple’s partnership with the luxury brand, Hermès, which has created a range of leather bands, with the Single Tour setting you back US$1,100, while the Double Tour costs US$1,250.
Apple also revealed a set of silicone bands for its cheapest Apple Watch Sport range.
