Dell announces 24 new business computing solutions and form factors

Today, Dell proudly announced their introduction of 24 new business computing solutions and form factors, including laptops, tablets, desktops and workstation computers.

The new products include the Dell Latitude E5420, E5520, E6220, E6320, E6420, E6520, E6420 ATG laptops, XT3 convertible tablet, Dell OptiPlex 990, 790, 390 desktops as well as an OptiPlex Small Form Factor All-in-One Solution.  Dell will also introduce the Dell Precision T1600 desktop workstation and Dell Precision M6600 and M4600 mobile workstations. 

Dell states that the new Latitude laptops offer new design, enhanced security, Remote Date Delete, Free Fall Sensor to protect against drops, and planned support for pre-integrated Citrix and VMware remote desktop clients. It will also include latitude commonality across 26 models, 1 dock, battery, and a keyboard footprint

Dell claims that the “Dell OptiPlex Family is designed to be the most secure, flexible and manageable desktops.”  Dell OptiPlex Family includes the OptiPlex 990, 790 and 390 desktops.

The Dell Precision T1600 workstation and The Dell OptiPlex solutions will be available in the next few weeks. The Dell OptiPlex solutions are priced from €730 and the Dell Precision T1600 workstation starts at €606.

Bob O’Donnell, program vice president, Clients and Displays commented, “As mobility continues to play a key role in enabling companies to achieve greater productivity worldwide, we expect the global mobile worker population to pass the one billion mark this year”.

Later in 2011, Dell plans to extend its existing tablet portfolio with a 10-inch, Windows 7-based business-ready tablet. The tablet is designed for end-users who require better mobility, as well as IT organisations that need control, security, manageability and integration with existing infrastructure investments.

O’Donnell also adds, “As the workforce transforms, becoming more mobile and increasingly global, organisations require PC solutions that meet employees’ needs for increased flexibility and access while also meeting its requirements for manageability and security.”
