The term ‘mobile working’ has taken on a different meaning in the case of a man police pulled over for driving a Ford station wagon equipped with an entire mobile office. The driver must now pay a €120 speeding ticket and possible fine for having unsecured items in the car.
Saarland state police in Germany have said they stopped the 35-year-old man for driving at 130km/h in a 100km/h zone while passing a truck this week.
The interior of the car revealed a wooden frame built on the passenger seat. Atop that sat a laptop on a docking station, tilted for more easy access, a printer, a router, a wireless internet dongle, WLAN antenna, and an inverter to power all the gear, AP reported.
A mobile phone and navigation system had been mounted on the windscreen, as well.
Since the police didn’t have any evidence the driver used the ‘office’ while driving, they couldn’t penalise him with more than the speeding ticket and fine for unsecured items.
