If you thought Apple was pushing the boundaries with a 12.9in iPad Pro, Samsung has gone about half a foot further with an 18.4in Galaxy View, which is optimised for primarily watching video.
Growing up, we used to have portable TVs that came with a handle and a dodgy aerial. But now in these more Wi-Fi enlightened times Samsung has revealed the Galaxy View 18.4in tablet computer, which is to all intents and purposes a portable TV.
The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and its interface is designed with the video content consumer in mind.
A tablet just for watching videos
It comes pre-installed with apps for various TV and video streaming sites.
The dedicated home screen for videos showcases various content services all in one place, making it incredibly easy and convenient for users to enjoy the latest entertainment.
The Galaxy View also comes with a 5700mAh battery optimised for long viewing with a battery life of up to eight hours.
It also comes with a versatile two-way stand and two 4W speakers.
“At Samsung, we are committed to creating new possibilities and bringing our consumers the best mobile experience,” said JK Shin, CEO and head of Samsung’s IT and mobile business.
“We are very excited to introduce the new Galaxy View, providing an entirely new way of consuming mobile video and entertainment.”
