It’s that time of year again when every wag attempts to guess when the next generation iPhone device will launch based on each and every morsel of information. The latest reports from the US suggest it will go on sale on 21 September following the usual launch pattern from Apple.
According to esteemed Silicon Valley blog TechCrunch, quoting a “trusted source” at Verizon, staff at the mobile operator have been ordered not to take time off between 21 September and 30 September, suggesting a 21 September launch date.
Using last year’s pattern and the current rumour mill, this suggests Apple is expected to unveil its latest creation (will it be the iPhone 5 or just the ‘new iPhone?) on 12 September with pre-orders being taken in the US on the same date.
So it’s that time of year again. Nearly every day now we are being regaled with sneak images leaked from suppliers in Asia of bits and pieces that are going into the device, etc. Every morsel will be dissected and shared to keepthe fanbois chattering like chimps.
The only things we really can be certain of:
· there will be a new iPhone this Autumn (or Fall, if you speak American)
· Apple likes to announce its new products mid-week
· Only Apple really knows what’s going on
