Nintendo has revealed the European launch titles for its upcoming portable console the 3DS, which includes Street Fighter IV, Nintendogs + cats, Splinter Cell and The Sims 3.
Released on 25 March, the 3D handheld console will see 13 individual titles released on the first day.
Nintendo itself will be offering Nintendogs + cats and Pilotwings Resort. Nintendogs + cats brings 3D functionality to the franchise. The Nintendo 3DS’ inner camera and face-recognition technology lets players interact with the pets, including the ability to pet them and call them over.
The game also utilises augmented reality, letting the player’s pet play on real-world objects, such as their dining room table or sitting room floor.
Pilotwings Resort lets players use their Mii characters to pilot vehicles such as planes, hang gliders and rocket belts to complete 40 missions.
Capcom will offer Street Fighter IV 3D Edition on the first day of launch, offering 35 playable characters, bonus stages and cinematic combos. Gamers can also play against friends across the globe with online multiplayer.
Konami will have Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2011 3D for the console, utilising the 3D capabilities of the console. It includes play-by-play commentary and supports wireless player between two consoles.
Electronics will be releasing The Sims 3, letting users create a unique Sim and control their lives. Players can download exclusive content through online connectivity and the game now offers quick challenges to the franchise.
LucasArts will offer Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars for the console, which will also take advantage of the console’s 3D features. Gamers can play through 10 story-based missions spanning across the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series.
Namco Bandai will offer Ridge Racer 3D, bringing the familiar Ridge Racer gameplay to the console with 3D visuals.
Sega will be releasing Super Monkey Ball 3D, which will have 3 full-game modes, including classic puzzles, car fights and battles. Players can control the game using either the motion sensor or Slide Pad to balance.
Temco Koei will launch Samurai Warriors: Chronicles for the device, allowing players to explore the game in 3D. It will also offer character switching, letting users switch between four characters in a game to strategically utilise their skills when needed most.
Ubisoft will release four games on the launch date – Asphalt 3D, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3D and Rayman 3D.
