Toshiba's Portege Z830

Toshiba has unveiled its first ultrabook, the Portege Z830, which is 15.9mm at its thickest point and weighs 1.12kg.

This device will join the emerging category of computers with ultra-slim designs but powerful specs, aimed at re-invigorating the PC sector.

The Portege Z830 has a 13.3-inch HD screen and a second-generation Intel Core i3 or i5 processor.

It has up to 6GB of DDR3 memory, a 128GB hard drive and offers up to eight hours of battery life.

The ultrabook includes Intel vPro technology for enhanced business security and Intel Anti-Theft, which lets users disable the device or delete data remotely if the PC has been stolen or lost.

It has three USB ports, one USB 3.0 port and an HDMI port to output video onto HD screens and projectors.

Along with this, the Portege Z830 includes two integrated stereo speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio 2 sound, which automatically optimises audio content for the best quality playback for music.

The Toshiba Portege Z830 will be available from the end of November.
