Version 1’s talent acquisition specialist Marko Soldo spoke us at Career Zoo in Dublin recently as an example of someone with no tech background who transitioned to the field with relative ease.
IT services company Version 1 has been a regular presence at Career Zoo over the last number of years and has seen its Dublin-based office expand rapidly with expected revenues of as much as €1bn over the next 10 years.
With this in mind, Soldo said that events like Career Zoo provide amazing opportunities to connect with tech companies, even if you have no background in the area but of course, he said, this depends on the person’s motivations and ambitions.
“Because I see that there are plenty of candidates, with some that could have been working as, say, a bartender, and then they did their IT in .NET, C Sharp and Java and then they were quite successful.”
