Accounting and consulting player Deloitte has established a new office in Galway where it will create 30 new jobs.
The new office will be Deloitte’s fifth location in Ireland and will offer a full suite of services, with a particular focus on audit, accounting and risk advisory, tax, corporate finance and restructuring, and company secretarial services.
The new office will be based in the Galway Financial Services Centre.
“The city is a global centre of activity for medical technologies and ICT companies, in addition to having a strong indigenous business sector,” said Deloitte managing partner Brendan Jennings.
“What’s more, it’s an ambitious and fast-growing city. At Deloitte, we are similarly ambitious.”
Deloitte’s nationwide expansion
The expansion into Galway will be led by Deloitte audit and advisory partner Gerard Casey and tax partner Dan O’Donovan.
“Deloitte has a strong client portfolio in Connacht, having worked closely with companies across various sectors in Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo and Leitrim for many years,” Casey explained.
“The establishment of this office is a sign of our commitment to the area. What’s more, we are looking forward to meeting talented individuals of a similar mindset who are interested in joining our team. We’re enthusiastic about the work we can do together.”
The Deloitte expansion is the latest in a catalogue of jobs announcements for Galway, including expansions by IIR, Algae Health, Zimmer, Avaya, IDT911 and Shopify.
The Galway expansion is part of an overall 400-job expansion across Ireland by Deloitte announced last week.
